Nelson Piquet Jr is hoping the two points he scored in France on Sunday after just the start of better things to come.
Piquet Jr's introduction to F1 has been anything but easy as the Brazilian has struggled to come to terms with the sport and deal with an off-the-pace Renault.
However, his fortunes changed at Magny-Cours when he finally bagged his first points of the season thanks to his seventh placed finish.
"Hopefully it will be a snowball now just getting bigger for the rest of the year," Piquet Jr told Autosport. "Sooner or later it was going to arrive - I never felt under pressure.
"Obviously everything needs to be better than in the first part of the Championship. I was very unlucky, a lot of bad things happened, but hopefully everything will be good from now on."
The rookie also had the added bonus of beating his double World Champion team-mate Fernando Alonso, overtaking the Spaniard out on track when he run wide trying to lap Adrian Sutil.
"It wasn't really a fight," said Nelsinho. "He made a tiny mistake and I got an advantage. I had a perfect strategy - maybe a little bit better than Fernando's."
