Fisi: Definitely improving

Friday 3rd July 2009

Giancarlo Fisichella is loving his current run of form, which has seen him claim two top ten finishes in the last three grands prix.

Although the Force India driver has yet to score a World Championship point this season, one of just four men still to get off the mark, Fisichella and his team have put in some impressive results in recent weeks.

While he finished ninth in the Monaco GP, the Roman then claimed tenth place at the British GP, a venue that gives a more realistic picture of form than the streets of Monte Carlo.

"I was very motivated. I was comfortable because the car was consistent," he said of his Silverstone result.

"I'm usually fighting for 17th or 18th position, and it's a bit boring and a bit frustrating. But I really enjoyed this.

"We have better grip, and more stability. I'm more comfortable in the car. But the main thing is its better in high speed corners."

The next race on the F1 calendar is the German GP at the Nurburgring, where Fisichella is hoping points could be possible.

"I hope the car will be good there again. I'm not saying that we will score points, but in Silverstone I finished 10th, which wasn't easy starting from 16th. So anything is possible. Let's see!" he said.
