Frustrated Nakajima hopes his bad luck ends soon

Wednesday 1st July 2009

Kazuki Nakajima insists he is still upbeat despite a string of disappointing results.

Although the Williams driver has impressed during practice and qualifying he is yet to score any points this season.

He was hopeful he would break his duck at Silverstone after starting fifth on the grid. However, he had to settle for 11th place after a couple of less than inspired pit stops.

Nakajima, though, is confident they will score points eventually if they continue to put in the hard work.

"It is frustrating and if you look at the results it looks like a disaster," Nakajima told Autosport. "But we know that we have had some very good chances, and the difference at the end was actually very tiny compared to the results.

"I feel quite positive, more positive than the results show. It is very tough now, because even small differences in time can make a huge difference in terms of the results. We just need to keep putting in our best effort, and I am sure that one day we can put it all together.

"With my engineer, we are getting better and better together. And for the whole team it is better to have two drivers who can push each other.

"If we get everything together, then I am sure we can get a better result. We just need to learn a little bit more, get better slightly, and then I think everything will come towards us. The result at Silverstone was disappointing, but at the same time it was very encouraging in the race."
