Force India's Adrian Sutil has been penalised three places on the Bahrain grid for impeding Mark Webber during qualifying.
The final few minutes of Q1 saw Sutil out on track ahead of Webber where he blocked the Red Bull driver as he came to start his final flying lap.
The result was that Webber qualified down in a disappointing 19th place while Sutil, who had qualified 16th, will now start P19 on the grid.
"I just tried to stay in my position to get a clear start to the lap. It was a misunderstanding and I apologised to Mark after the end of the session," Sutil told Autosport.
